Scope and objectives

In the last few years many educational institutions have been developing strategies aiming at the adequacy of study programs, curriculum contents and didactical resources in order to get a complete integration and efficient use of new information and communication technologies within the teaching and learning processes.
One of the most widely applied approaches is based on a single-handled and gradual transition process from the on-campus traditional model to e-Learning and online education. Underling this approach is the conviction that the changes that separate these two models are so meaningful that only through an aware, progressive and gradual planning the opportunities and advantages of the application of the information and communication technologies advances, on the teaching and learning processes, particularly those based on Web, could be properly absorbed.

In this workshop different approaches to e-Learning courses design and sharing will be presented. Taking as a starting point the ISEGI-UNL's experience in e-Learning program courses development and implementation, two distinct visions in e-Learning courses conception and design will be presented: "from scratch" versus "gradual transition".
Through the presentation of the concept underlying the eduGI program, the focus will be given to the main advantages, opportunities and current limitations related with sharing and reusing of e-Learning courses. In this sense, two distinct e-Learning courses design and delivery approaches will be confronted: "open and shared approach" versus "autonomous and individual approach".
